Stylin' Stitches was established in July of 1995 when
owner Sue Banas had discovered that there was no reasonable outlet
for the consumer looking to buy a small order for a great price;
she had - had enough of paying for high quantity minimum orders!
Sue and her husband, Mike, purchased a single head embroidery machine
and opened shop by taking orders from their boat in the Small Boat
Harbor in Seward, Alaska. Their business philosophy was (and still
is today) No Minimums, and No Job Too Small. When business
quickly picked up, Sue and Mike leased a 400 square foot store front
and added another single head embroidery machine to their productivity
line. After a third move around the corner into 650 square foot
location and the purchase of a four head embroidery machine, they
moved into a larger location, yet again in April 2002. At that time
they moved into their current 1600 square foot location on the main
strip in Seward where business is thriving better than ever.
Stylin' Stitches is not just an embroidery shop, however, they offer
many more goods and services such as hats, jackets, T-shirts and
sweatshirts as well monogramming and silk screening services to
name a few. Summer tourists find Stylin' Stitches to be their favorite
place to buy Alaska souvenirs during their visit to the Last Frontier. |
